New to the Blogging World
PrettyThings is the name that I've chosen for my studio n like the name suggests everything pretty and beautiful should come together here..
I wanted everything to be colourful...the backdrop and the decor...and I did all the curtains and display by myself taking great care that it would take me to what I had in mind...I was a little nervous as I didn't know if it would be as beautiful as it was in my mind....but it did turn out nice given to the fact that I worked it up into the night...thanks to the help from some of my genius friends...for whom I am so thankful n grateful....and I cannot imagine my life without them...muahhh to you guys...!!!....
Wanted this rawness and the window display had to be extremely pretty n there's nothing more prettier than butterflies... :) and angels...I die cut the butterflies....courtesy idea from one of the pinners I've been following....she had this amazing do pinned onto her space and when I saw it....I instantly knew I had to do it....Well I got to doing it to some extent...(given to the fact that India doesn't really have the access to lovely craft supply unlike western countries..)....
This is what the gallery space for my first exhibition looked like...I wanted piƱatas...though we don't get very pretty ones here and I had to do with what was available...but I was satisfied with the whole look and proud too that it was all handmade...just like my work. I used tree stems to put on the side walls with fabric drops and crystals. The curtains were made from paper pasting...one that we use in fabric lining and stuck craft paper roundels that I again die cut. At the end of the gallery space, I wanted to put up a reflection of the products that I used in my work. I went ahead putting up things like a sewing machine...tacky glue, paints, brushes, mod podge...etc..etc..,and that corner came out whole and full and beautiful. Last was the part of displaying the products.(Into which i put up about six months of labour..) I had ideas and ideas and ideas...and did all the handwork (I'm sure all crafters would know how it is when you doing a project and you want to get it great the very moment you put it up...) I had monograms and painted wooden boxes...envelopes ,tags , painted magnets...wreaths...pouches...and a lot of other diy stuff....
Clients the first morning of the do... :)
Posing with my father in law.... Ya right...that is my father in law....a cool dude I'm blessed to have him in my life ... :)
It was a very satisfying day 1 and I was all sold on the day 2....and also an endless list of orders for this and that in my hand..now that is what I call work....You get to do what you love the most and a true satisfaction follows.... So see ya guys in my next post...hopefully I would be able to tell you guys about some of the new projects I am putting my hands onto....until then....Ciao....bye bye...!!!
